You’ll get hooked on fishing with Captain Smiley’s Fishing Camps & Charters

Fresher than seafood in the grocery store, cheaper than buying a boat

Captain Smiley’s Fishing Camps & Charters

This year, our son (10) discovered a love of fishing thanks to Captain Smiley’s Fishing camps and charters (and our good friend who booked it!) He and his best friend plus the dads went on a fishing charter in the spring – it took one outing, and he was hooked. 🎣 (get it? Haha.) Both boys loved it so much, they signed up for the summer camp.

Palmetto Kids Fishing Camps

Kids on a boat, fishing, in Little River. I’m pretty sure a cooler camp cannot exist.

The camps might start a little early in the morning for some (7am departure!) but the experience is unforgettable – the kids learn so much, and have fun fishing until 11am. Outdoors, on the water, fishing with friends – what an incredible life these kids live on the coast, right!?

Ocean to table

Twice our proud fisherman brought home flounder – which we fried up – and once, he shared with us. 🍴 My husband thought the tag line “from boat to throat” was a good one… I think “ocean to table” sounds more appealing?

Fishing Charters

You can charter a fishing excursion year-round with Captain Smiley. While summertime is the busiest time of year, fishing the inshore waters in and around North Myrtle Beach and Little River is a year-round event.

Surprisingly, fall is one of the best times of year for fishing, according to the website! He says, “Fall fishing is definitely the best time of the year for Inshore fishing. Large Red Drum migrate to our rivers and Inlets feeding on massive schools of mullet. Spot fishing is very popular October thru November and make for a great fish dinner.”

Different fish inhabit the waters each season – and Captain Smiley will teach you everything you need to know from casting to catching. He’ll identify and tell you about the fish, tell you which ones you can keep – even clean and debone anything you can take home.

For a fun dad + son outing, you can’t beat chartering a fishing excursion with Captain Smiley. He has all of the equipment – the boat, the fishing gear, etc. – and takes you to the best spots to catch fish.

Captain Smiley’s Fishing camps & charters would make an EXCELLENT gift – a charter for dads + kids (not just boys! Girls love it, too!) – experiences and memories make the best gifts 🐟 or a camp experience for the kids!
