Joe’s Bar & Grill is a restaurant that makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s cool home. A big fire place and living room greet you as you walk in the door. It’s so cozy! Then, your eyes will probably wander to the extensive collection of taxidermied animals hanging on the wall. The owner and chef is a hunter.
Joe’s has been a locals’ favorite for 30 years.
Noteworthy: the Raccoon Run offers a dinner show
The outdoor deck is the coolest in the Grand Strand: a big bar, plenty of seating, big fireplace, and gorgeous marsh views.
Also, a raccoon run.
“A raccoon run!?” you might be thinking, “What on earth is that!?”
Most likely you’ve never seen one.
I’ve never seen one.
The Raccoon Run is a wooden boardwalk with a tower platform as tall as the deck. Bread is scattered on the platform to attract raccoons to run across the wooden bridge, which is endlessly entertaining. Dinner and a show, Lowcountry style, y’all!
While you could very well go to Joe’s for the wine and the raccoon ogling, the real reason to visit Joe’s is the outstanding fine dining comfort food. Here are some more reasons to add Joe’s to your list of go-to restaurants for dinner:
- Location: This casual fine dining restaurant is tucked away on the marsh just off of the hubbub of Business 17 in North Myrtle Beach. It’s conveniently located but far enough from the traffic to make you feel secluded.
- Wine List: The wine list is superb. You’ll really find a great mix wines to compliment the food. Looking for a red wine to try for the table? Order the Emmolo Merlot crowd-pleasing favorite red wine that will compliment both steak and seafood.
- What to order: If you’re in the mood for steak, go for the Steak Au Poivre or the Angus Beef Short Rib. If you’re feeling seafood, the Shrimp Lowcountry is a local favorite.
