Chalk Hill Estates produces elegant wines you can find in many restaurants along the Grand Strand. Affordable, easy-drinking, and food-friendly, you’ll love to share these wines with friends. We visited the winery in Sonoma, and it is one of the most idyllic outdoor porch experiences you can imagine.
Our Visit to the Picturesque Chalk HIll Estates in Sonoma Valley
We started with a tasting on the porch, and Chalk Hill ordered up the perfect mid-70s degree weather for wine sipping. You just can’t beat the views overlooking vineyards. Our knowledgeable server told us the history of the estate, tasted us through the portfolio of wines, and then took us to the basement wine cellar. This was a cool experience!
Chalk Hill Chardonnay = ultimate porch sipping, conversation with good friends, light jazz playing in the background. They are elegant and understated like a Southern grandmother who serves a casual lunch on fine china.

- Open a bottle of the Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, about $20 from Total Wine. Wine Notes: “Aromas of red apple and ripe pear meld with hints of honeysuckle and orange-peel and a bit of toasty marshmallow. A bright entry gives way to a creamy, rich texture with extended notes of caramel and Macintosh apple, and a long, clean, juicy finish.” Rated 91+ by Wine Advocate.
