Duckhorn Vineyards is an iconic Napa brand, and we absolutely loved learning more about the wines on our recent trip to Napa.
We love Duckhorn Merlot. The mellow, elegant red wine pairs with anything from roasted chicken to a braised short rib from Joe’s Bar & Grille.
Visiting Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley
It was no surprise that our tasting at Duckhorn in Napa Valley was set in a picturesque outdoor tasting room surrounded by lush gardens. If the weather is nice, opt for the porch at a high top table. The porch area is bright and comfortable, and the perfect setting for a wine tasting. A friendly and knowledgeable wine educator talks to you about the winery, wines, and history. You’ll taste through several wines in a casual setting – she gives you plenty of time to enjoy the wines and scenery in between pours. Plus, Duckhorn has a GREAT gift shop!

Duckhorn Wines to Try
When an affordable wine is related to a higher wine, I feel I’m getting a good deal. Such is the case with the Duckhorn brand, Decoy, which you can find under $20 in Target, Walmart, and grocery stores.
Duckhorn is the finer wine. Duckhorn Merlot ($49 at Total Wine) is our personal favorite. The Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc ($25.99 at Total Wine) is a killer white wine for that price.
We tasted through wines you can only find at the winery, plus wines they put into distribution that you can find here in South Carolina. All, of course, were incredible and solidified our love of Duckhorn Wines.
