Wente Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in Livermore Valley, a few hours drive from Sonoma Valley. We visited in the fall, and have some beautiful pictures of the winery – plus, a few recommendations of wines to try from Wente Vineyards you can find in your local grocery store!
Dreaming about a trip to California Wine Country? We visited Paso Robles and Livermore Valleys on our last trip, a departure from the popular Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Definitely add those two spots to your wine vacation bucket list! One reason to visit Livermore Valley is the wineries can have more than just a tasting room on property. Sonoma and Napa restrict on-site restaurants at wineries, which is not the case in Livermore Valley. Wente has two tasting locations – the vineyard includes a gorgeous golf course, club house, and large restaurant. The Estate Winery & Tasting Room is a gorgeous garden and tasting room. Tasting notes “Our 2018 Morning Fog Chardonnay bursts with aromatics from citrus, lemon curd, pear and toasty oak. This wine is balanced by hints of vanilla and citrus on the palate, finishing with a nice acidity.”
Tasting notes “Our 2018 Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon welcomes you with aromatics of warm baking spices. On the palate this wine delivers ripe blackberry and fig with round, smooth tannins.
