{ The Mysterious Benedict Society Review } Let me tell you, this is a fun show to watch with kids, but that’s not the sole reason I recommend watching it.
Open a bottle of sparkling wine, order Thai Lao to go, and make it a wine night, y’all. The Mysterious Benedict Society on Disney+ may be kid appropriate, but adults will love it just as much.
Don’t get me wrong: I love bonding with my son (12) with a TV show or movie that hooks us both.
However, this show? It is BEAUTIFUL.
The story is entertaining, the dialogue is quirky. The characters are smart and intriguing. The mystery unfolds.
The story is what my 12-year-old likes.
Yet, it’s the style of the show that has me hooked.
The Mysterious Benedict Society Review
The cars, the interiors, the wardrobe are all mod, gorgeous, and classy. The cinematography is art. The female characters are confident and brainy (in an enviable way.) The kids are exceptionally intelligent. The Mad Men vibe makes me want to toss out my 2022 closet, go back in a Time Machine to 1960, and shop in a department store for mustard-colored suits with belts, a-line patterned dresses, and jaunty scarves to tie around my neck.
I’d recommend watching it on your own, even if you don’t have offspring you’re trying to lure into bonding.

This season, Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance, the four gifted orphans who were recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict, embark on another mission to save the world from the nefarious plans of his twin brother Dr. L.D. Curtain. When the kids discover that Mr. Benedict and Number Two have been kidnapped, they must piece together the riddles and clues within a perilous scavenger hunt set by Mr. Benedict to foil Curtain’s latest scheme. Relying on only their wits, intellect, and empathy, the charming group of misfits embark on a globe-trotting adventure by air, land, sea and pie truck, calling upon their special skills to solve the mysteries and rescue their lost comrades. Along the way, the kids experience the growing pains that come along with being part of their new “found family,” while remaining true to their unique selves. In the process, they discover what true happiness really means.
