What’s the Weekend Wine List? a link list with Lowcountry food, wine, style, travel, and Grand Strand things to do 🥂 Some of the links may be affiliates, which means Good Taste Guide makes a small commission at no cost to you
A personal note
I wrote this unintentionally long e-letter to my newsletter subscribers and thought it deserved a spot on my blog too.
Myrtle Beach to Charlotte to London to Paris to Charlotte to Myrtle Beach
Costco Travel makes a trip to Europe pretty easy. We opted to drive from Myrtle Beach to catch direct flights from Charlotte and SO GLAD we did. Read the 3-part series:
Downtown Myrtle Beach is getting a new Wine Bar!
The Tasting Room on 9th will open in 2024
Chef Jamie Daskalis shares, “I have teamed up with local Sommelier and long time friend, Lisa Lee, to bring a sophisticated wine bar experience to the heart of the planned redeveloping of the downtown area. The Tasting Room on 9th is a wine bar designed for the revitalized downtown area of The Arts and Innovation District of Myrtle Beach. Offering a wide selection of wines from around the world and a curated menu of food pairings. Along with a selection of crafted cocktails, featuring local liquor, housemade and local syrups, and international bottle beer.
Myrtle Beach has brought me so much love and happiness. To be participating in the redevelopment of the downtown area is not something I take lightly. I am excited to take all the knowledge I have learned over the years from my father and my own experiences, and create this space with Lisa. Lisa has a vast knowledge of wine and hospitality and I look forward to continue to learn and grow as a professional, chef and restaurateur.”

Weekend Getaway: the best places in Hilton Head, according to a local
I am SO EXCITED about this series and fingers crossed I can add more of these travel guides… Where the Locals Go is a series sharing the best of a destination through the eyes of a local…
The first in the series is a content creator friend, Leah, and this travel guide to Hilton Head is INCREDIBLE. Leah shares so many cool things to do (a hibachi dinner cruise! a bank turned into a brewery!) – even if you’ve been to Hilton Head 1000 times, you’ll love this guide. I can’t wait to try her recommendations the next time I visit. No one knows a destination like a local, right?
→ Check out The Best of Hilton Head, according to a Local
PS – The best way to get to Hilton Head IN MY OPINION is straight down Business 17, stopping at Seewee Restaurant or Jack’s Cosmic Dog’s, through Beaufort and onto the Island.
