Location is everything, and this place has it. We were there for a conference — about a 15-minute walk to the convention center — but it’s right on the edge of the French Quarter, so we walked to Mr. B’s, Tableau, and the French Quarter food tour. It’s also a few minutes from Caesar’s if you want to gamble, and Sazerac if you want to take a tour with whiskey tastings.
Rooms: The room was a great size (got upgraded!), the Bonvoy elite lounge had a good breakfast, and a little happy hour snack buffet. I stayed on the 42nd floor which was right next to the lounge, which made it really convenient to stop in for sparkling water, drinks, coffee, and snacks! If (when!) I go back, I’ll request the same floor for this reason! The lobby bar plus Starbucks covered everything else.
Why we’d stay again: you can’t beat it for mixing work and play. Conference by day, French Quarter by night, all on foot. One night we took a pedicab home from Frenchmen Street — the most fun way to see the city.
