Food, history, more food, walking, and drinks if you want it. Our food guide pointed out the best Hurricane on Bourbon Street, history highlights of the cultural influences of the food, and made the entire 3-hour tour a blast. This is a great way to discover the French Quarter!

Food tours have become my favorite way to see a city – I love a guided tour of anything (Musée d’Orsay, Milan Bike Tour, Walking Tour of Philly) but add food & drinks to the mix? Winner! Cheers!

Our Doctor Gumbo host, Meg, was fantastic – funny, smart, and extremely knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans. We loved learning about the various cultures that settled in the area in the 1700s that came together to influence the Creole and Cajun food we know and love today.

We started our tour with a cup of gumbo and learning the history of Louisiana and New Orleans, then headed to our next stop for po boys and a Hurricane. We had pralines, jambalaya, and finished with red beans & rice and a crazy bananas foster cake.

We did the 10am tour, which was over by 1pm – giving us plenty of time to explore the French Quarter!
