Why go: you love local seafood and fresh vegetables. This family has been in the restaurant business since the 1970s – and going on 4th generation at Mr. P’s. The chef delivered our entrees and chatted with us – everything is made from scratch and you can tell. You’ll be blown away by the at-home feel of the restaurant, friendly service, upscale yet down-home menu, and fresh ingredients.
What we’d order again: Definitely the soft shell crab (but it was a special, so not offered all the time.) Crab stuffed flounder. The clams with the mushrooms and the butter wine sauce and crispy bread were outrageously good (but also on special.) The oysters with a glass of champagne. The stuffed flounder entree came with your choice of about ten different sides that all sounded incredible – we went with cabbage, lima beans with country ham, and fresh-cut corn.
Tip: Make your reservation early. It books up. We got our reservation for 5pm at the bar!
