The first time we visited London we went to a pub in the mix of the touristy attractions. You can’t really mess up a draft beer, but you can certainly serve mediocre food to tourists – and that’s what we found. The next time we visited, we discovered the posh Gillray’s which has a full service restaurant (looks fantastic!) but we stayed in the pretty bar area for wine + wine snacks. 10/10. Definitely the stop after traipsing around the main tourist highlights.
Why go: you want to skip the tourist traps and have an excellent glass of wine
What we’d order again: a glass of Chablisienne Chablis (or whatever cocktail suits you!) + chips. Also the mushroom flatbread was fantastic.
