The magic of this BLT is the handmade biscuit, of course. Also the combination of roasted tomatoes, thick bacon, and arugula tossed in a basil lemon mayo. It all comes together perfectly. When I was finished, I said “I am so sad that is over.” Haha.

King Street Location

This adorable little bakery is located at 476 1/2 King Street Charleston, SC 29403. It’s a small storefront. So small, in fact, I walked right by it looking for it (Maps takes you to the wrong location FYI.) I told my husband, “I swear I smelled biscuits but I cannot find it.” Keep in mind: I need a GPS to get anywhere, including places I’ve visited 100 times.

The menu includes every biscuit combination imaginable if you’re not into BLTs. Grits in a biscuit bowl, with a battery of accoutrements including pimento cheese, shaved country ham, scrambled egg, sausage gravy, chopped bacon, sliced avocado, roasted tomatoes, jams, honeys, butters (cinnamon, savory thyme, salt & pepper, and many more. You’ll also find more biscuit sandwiches like the sausage and pimento cheese, a goat cheese with jam biscuit, and bacon, egg & cheese. Overwhelming delicious options, right!?

Shop

The shop has all kinds of treats you can take home. Carrie Morey’s two cookbooks, jams and jellies, biscuit mixes, and biscuit crackers. The freezer is stocked full of the bake-at-home biscuits. You can try these at home after you order a biscuit to go! Sharp cheddar biscuits, country ham biscuits, sausage biscuits, buttermilk, gluten-free, cheese and chive, and cinnamon are the options.

Y’all, this is definitely a spot to add to your Charleston To Do List.
