At a winter party a few years ago, the host had Brunswick stew on the stove in a pretty blue Le Creuset Soup Pot – and it was just so elegant! And rustic! And foodie! Fabulous! What a great way to cook and serve for a party. Add crusty bread, and you’ve got a comfort meal all of your guests will love.
The second the clock strikes midnight on August and the calendar turns the page to September 1, no matter how high the temperature is, I’m ready for fall soups!
What’s the best Le Creuset soup pot size?
The Dutch oven is my go-to choice for soup-making.
I love to make a big batch on the weekend and take it to work the next week.
The best soup pot size is the 6 3/4 quart oval Dutch oven. It’s large enough for a double batch, cleans easily, and cooks evenly. Best of all, it’s just beautiful on the stove!!
Obviously, this is not just for soups – it’s a great post to braise chicken, sauté veggies, make Stanley Tucci’s marinara, and a million other dishes.
How to store and freeze soups
Let the soup cool in the pot. Then store the amount you want to eat in the next few days in these glass storage containers. Glass makes it easy to reheat. To freeze, use disposable gallon freezer bags or reusable silicone bags. Stasher bags are non-toxic silicone storage bags that are dishwasher safe, microwave safe, freezer friendly, and oven safe up to 425 degrees.
This #31 6 3/4 quart Le Creuset Soup Pot is available at Williams-Sonoma in many beautiful colors!
