Drink Champagne after New Year’s Eve

Cheers to the first weekend of the new year, y’all! Maybe you toasted with champagne on New Year’s Eve, but I’m here to convince you to drink sparkling wine throughout the year. Don’t save it for special occasions. You should break out the bubbly for the not so special occasions, too.

Here’s your weekend list for the best wine night in: drink the champagne, try a new dish, get lost in a book… cheers!!

Champagne after New Year’s Eve

1

Taste: Don’t forget about sparkling wine after NYE

Sparkling wines and champagne pair with pretty much ANYTHING. Steak, shrimp, big celebrations, Tuesdays, salad, buffalo wings, cheese boards. You can even sip sparkling wine for breakfast (or brinner.) Here’s a list of sparkling wines and champagnes you can find in your grocery stores, Target, Walmart, or Total Wine…

2

Make: Butter Garlic Shrimp

Sam the Cooking Guy’s “shrimpy” is about the easiest and most decadent recipe you can make. Serve with champagne.

3

Read: The Winemaker’s Wife

Along the theme of champagne, ‘The Winemaker’s Wife’ is a historical fiction page-turner set in the Champagne region of France during World War II. I could not put it down!

4

Watch: Red Notice on Netflix

SO entertaining. Wonderwoman, The Rock, and witty Ryan Reynolds make this art heist movie fun to watch! Definitely one to watch for date night with a bottle of (you guessed it!) champagne / sparkling wine.

5

Buy: a Gratitude Journal

Gratitude boosts your happiness, according to science. Buy a gratitude journal to record your happy thoughts!
