Y’all. Does This Taste Funny cookbook is a fantastic collection of Lowcountry recipes you can actually make at home.
Let’s be honest… a lot of cookbooks have incredible looking recipes that require complicated steps only a professional chef could execute.
This cookbook by Charleston natives Stephen and Evie Colbert features a collection of their favorite recipes to share with friends and family. The best part? These recipes are easy to make!
I love that they include recipes that include fresh seafood – and the best places to pick it up around Charleston.
Of course up Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet we have our own favorites spots for local seafood like Seven Seas Seafood.
Two of the recipes are instant family favorites – fried chicken tenders with a crunchy Cornflakes concoction as the batter and a lemon Chicken orzo soup that will be in a constant dinner rotation in our house this fall & winter.
Both of these recipes pair well with a good California Sauvignon Blanc – a white wine that’s not too light for fall and holds up to hearty dishes like these.
Seafood, cocktails, veggies, entrees – along with beautiful photos, sweet & funny stories, and seasonal Lowcountry recipes make this a must-have cookbook for any South Carolinian.
