Simple camera gear that makes content creation easier

No photographer wants to hear “Your camera takes such great photos! What is it?”
BECAUSE it’s the photographer, not the camera, that takes great photos.
Well, mostly.
Cameras do make a difference. A big difference. But you have to use the camera – and you have to know how to use the camera.
Cameras that are big and bulky you’ll leave at home.
Cameras with a lot of complicated features are overwhelming.
What I’ve discovered – even though I can use manual and know the mechanics of photography – I like a point and shoot. The simpler the camera, the more I’ll use it and the more I’ll love the photos.
POV: I’m taking photos for fun, for blog content, for memories. I’m not a professional photographer producing billboards and magazine ads 🙂
Here’s a roundup of my favorite camera gear that makes it easy to be in the moment while capturing the moment.
📸 Simple Camera Gear I Can’t Stop Switching Between:
Fuji Xs20

Fujifilm X-S20 – My “real camera.” Great colors, amazing video quality… but a little bulky when I just want to grab and go. 📸 Fuji xs20 Photo Gallery
Insta360 Go 3S – Tiny, magnetic, and perfect for spontaneous shots. The image quality isn’t perfect, but the convenience? 10/10.
DJI Neo – Selfie drone that works with your phone and is super easy to fly with preset modes.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 – Gimbal smooth, cinematic footage, and small enough to live in your bag. The flip screen is a dream. 🔗 (I got my Osmo Pocket 3 at Costco and did not get the kit with a mic)
DJI mini mic – such a tiny little microphone with excellent sound qualiity
Sony ZV-1 – A creator classic. Compact, fast autofocus, and crisp footage—still one of the easiest plug-and-play vlog cameras out there. 👉 Sony zv1 photo gallery

📓 Featuring my trusty Field Notes + Favorite Fountain Pen
🔗 Field Notes the best little notebook for jotting down ideas, thoughts, notes, lists.
🔗 Lamy Fountain Pen is the BEST writing fountain pen and it’s cheap! I like it better than my fancy fountain pens. A++
This video a little rambly and definitely not perfect—but that’s the point. I almost didn’t post this because I kept overthinking the gear, the setup, the script… but creativity doesn’t come from the perfect camera or the perfect plan. Sometimes, you just have to hit record.
This video is a field note on what happens when too many choices get in the way of creating—and why sometimes, the best thing you can do is pick one camera, skip the script, and just start.
