Have you ever visited a city with charming row homes like Savannah, Richmond, Washington D.C., or Charleston? On a trip last year, I was immediately struck by the personalities of the Savannah’s front doors and snapped photos of my favorites for inspiration. Bright, glossy colors surrounded by well-designed windows and ornate door frames gave each row home a distinct look, even when the exteriors didn’t have much distinction.
Brass on a glossy black or bright, vibrant color (it’s one or the other, in my opinion) is the classiest combination a front door could ever ask for.
When we were designing our house, a 10 Downing Street style lion door knocker was the no-brained choice for me until my husband called it “cheesy.” So I reconsidered. And then discovered fun brass door knocker options.
Hope these knock knock jokes make you laugh and not cringe…
Knock, Knock.
