5 things to do this weekend

Kayak in Cherry Grove

Social-distancing at it’s finest: a kayak tour in Cherry Grove at sunset. We had a blast!

Dine at Hook & Barrel

Look, no one knows how to navigate these times. There is so much contradiction and everyone needs to figure out their own personal preferences. If you do feel like a night out, Hook and Barrel is taking every precaution to make dining safe – all servers wear masks and the tables are far apart. Tables are sanitized. You need to call to make reservations, and if you want an outside spot (so pretty!) you’ll need to call a few days in advance. They have a new chef and menu – and a new salmon dish! – and our experience was fantastic.

Try this chardonnay

If you do go to Hook & Barrel, order the Trefethen Chardonnay with your seafood – it’s light, balanced, and refreshing with a hint of crisp apples and a smooth oaky undertone that makes it a happy complement to oysters, shrimp, grouper, and salmon. You can also get it Total Wine (great price!) if you’re in the mood for a wine night in!

Follow a winery owner

Follow @haileytref for cool vineyard photos + food – her family owns Trefethen, a Napa Valley winery and vineyard.

Get a personal coach

The aaptiv app is like having a personal coach in your pocket – the workouts are all fun and push you to run just a little bit more than you would on your own. Try the free trial to see if you like it!
