- Grab your camera and head out to explore Huntington Beach State Park. Don’t miss Atalaya Castle, which must be one of the top three most beautiful spots for photos in South Carolina (if someone has created this list?? If they did, Atalaya would be on it.)
- You absolutely need to spend at least an afternoon strolling Brookgreen Gardens, which features a world-renowned American figurative sculpture collection, Lowcountry Zoo, and acres of beauty to explore. If you’re not a member, go ahead and join. There is so much to discover and enjoy, from the gardens to the Lowcountry Zoo, all year round. President’s Council membership includes 8 tickets to Nights of a Thousand Candles – and you know that event sells out quickly! Members have first access to purchase tickets.
- Get your steps in around the 3-mile trail at Grand Park, directly across the street from the Market Common.
- Bring your frisbees and play a round of frisbee golf at Splinter City Disc Golf Course.
- If the weather is nice, take the kids to Savannah’s Playground at The Market Common, which is the largest playground in the area. Or, head to the North Myrtle Beach playground at McLean Park!
- Take a walk on the boardwalk and pier at Myrtle Beach State Park for gorgeous, scenic views. You can even rent a fishing pole and fish off the pier!
- Check out Alligator Adventure, located at Barefoot, the “reptile capital of the world,” with plenty of alligators to see!!

- Family-friendly bisQit serves up savory hamburgers (including one topped with Pimento Cheese!) with a pile of hand-cut french fries in a beach-shack setting on picnic tables at the Hammock Shops. and the diner-inspired menu makes spot this an excellent choice for lunch. - New South Brewing in Myrtle Beach is hidden in a warehouse area. On weekends, you can grab a beer + food from a food truck!
- Head to Grand Strand Brewing Co. for craft beers + beer food. Plus, they always have something fun happening – live music, specials, even events!
Head to the south end
- Head to the south end for a day or the weekend, and explore Pawleys Island.
- Check out the Hammock Shops for small gift shops and cool boutiques in a beautifully quaint, southern setting.
- Walk around the pretty waterfront area on Front Street in Georgetown, which features beautiful shops and excellent restaurants!

- Browse for a book at Barnes & Noble.
- While you’re at The Market Common, swing by and pick out the perfect pair of shoes at Centro Shoes, a locally-owned boutique with the best selection of shoes, jewelry & boho chic clothes in the Grand Strand. And even after that milkshake, the shoes will still fit! 😂
