Michael D’z Pit Cooked BBQ is a roadside food truck located on The Cut-Through road near Florence on your way to Myrtle Beach.
The giant smoking barrel by the side of the road will catch your eye.
And, if you’re the kind of road-tripper who stops a lot like us, you’ll want to wheel into the parking lot to discover this cool roadside bbq spot.
In the words of Nike… just do it.
You’ll be so happy you did.
- Order the BBQ obviously. $7 for one BBQ sandwich, $14 for two BBQ sandwiches (ha!)
- Sauces: Michael D’z has a line-up of bbq sauces you can try + buy
- Potato salad is a straightforward tangy, yellow potato salad. No attempts at fancy or funny business. It’s almost as good as the pre-packaged yellow potato salad from Food Lion, the gold standard of yellow potato salads.
- Cole slaw is surprisingly tangy and not as chopped as you’d expect. Someone definitely made it. Delish.
You can also try a million other menu items, but we stuck with the basics. The menu also includes a Philly cheesesteak, fries
Next time you’re headed to or fro from Columbia, stop by Michael D’z!
As you exit, the sign says: “Thanks for stop’n if you didn’t turn around” – if you drive by, it is worth turning around!
