The prettiest neighborhood in the South

Last weekend, I visited my friend Jodie at her gorgeous home in Habersham, located in Beaufort, SC. This is the same creative friend who starred in the blog post about the sous vide. She had no clue she’d be the subject of so many blog posts! Habersham is the most picturesque neighborhood you have EVER SEEN, ya’ll. As soon as you pull into the neighborhood, you’ll feel like you’ve been taken back in time, or that you’ve landed on a movie set of a Southern village. It’s so beautiful, Habersham does not seem real! The Habersham world features oaks draped with Spanish moss, marshes, a waterway, lots of green space, beautiful Southern Living homes with flowers and porches and rocking chairs. Neighbors that chat. Cute little stores and incredible small restaurants. I’m ready to move next door. (Which would be nice since Jodie makes a killer Key Lime Pie cocktail, which will probably the subject of another blog post!)

I had to get a video of this spectacular place. (I’m that annoying friend with a camera around my neck at all times, and now added a GoPro on a floaty stick to the mix.) I’m more into videos than photography these days, particularly with the GoPro because it’s just so easy to capture the moment while staying in the moment. Stroll the Habersham Marketplace with pretty shops and restaurants, a little play area, and pretty sidewalks. We had dinner at Bento’s Grill Tex Mex, with tableside guacamole (YUM!!) The kids loved lunch at 3 Sisters Pizzeria, which has the best Italian sub I’ve ever had. The marketplace is so charming, it’s worth the visit. Plus, they have incredible events throughout the year. I’m definitely heading back in October for the Harvest Festival, which is a vintage family festival – the pictures from a few years ago say it all!
