My family has been visiting Hilton Head since 1979, the year I was born. Yep, that makes me 29. Our Hilton Head Villa was recently redecorated and I wanted to share because it is so happy and pretty!
Renting a villa in Hilton Head Island offers many advantages over renting a hotel room. A villa provides privacy, space, and amenities that hotels often lack. It also allows you to experience the area without having to worry about traffic, parking, and other hassles.
coastal homes and villas style
The Ficks Reed dining set is gorgeous, right? This has been the spot for countless breakfasts, lunches, dinners, game nights… I’ve even finished and submitted important proposals for work perched in one of those chairs with a cup of coffee next to my laptop 🙂 The cushions have changed out over the years to give it an updated look, but this table and chairs is solid and will never go out of style. I have a personal obsession with Ficks Reed and rattan, and I can attribute it to this dining room set. And the sisal rug under it is a simple, coastal update! Chairish has a huge selection of Ficks Reed furniture, if you love the style.
The living room so comfortable! The bright coral swivel chairs and sofas make it a comfy spot for conversation and movie watching. The coffee table has been the center of the room for decades (and the two end tables!) but the rest of the furniture is all new. I love the styling of the TV bookshelf. So pretty and colorful! Clearly, the way to style bookshelves is to keep it simple, and add a few dramatic statement pieces rather than clutter up too much with smaller objects or too many books and pictures.
Also: that mirror 😍 Isn’t this such a happy, fun vacation spot?
Location
Never been to Hilton Head? You should also consider where you will stay while renting a villa. There are several different areas on Hilton Head Island that offer villa rentals. Each area has its own unique characteristics and benefits. Two of the most popular are Shipyard and Sea Pines.
Our villa is located in the best location in Hilton Head – and I admit, I’m biased – but it’s in Shipyard close to the Pope Avenue exit, about a mile from the beach, and an easy bike ride to Hilton Head Ice Cream, Coligny Plaza, and plenty of restaurants. There’s a pool and three tennis courts across the street, and the backyard has pretty lagoon & golf course views.
Access to Hilton Head Beaches
Coligny has plenty of shops and restaurants, plus a beautiful public beach access and splash pad. Shipyard also has a private beach, which is a quick bike ride from the villa. You can drive as well, if you have a lot of beach stuff you want to unload! We usually keep it simple with a small beach bag and take the bikes.
