WOW. All you air fryer fans: let me introduce you to a new favorite: air fryer egg rolls. Homemade eggrolls is not a recipe I’d ever consider attempting, but Sam the Cooking Guy’s video made it seem easy – and it was! This is a new favorite. SO GOOD.
I switched it up a little bit and used ground chicken, but you can use all veggies, pork, shrimp… so many options!
Check out his video because he’s 1) entertaining and 2) excellent at showing you how to make good food! He has a great cookbook: Sam the Cooking Guy: Recipes with Intentional Leftovers that we love.
- egg roll wraps
- ground chicken
- chopped cabbage and carrots (pick & prep from Lowes Foods)
- soy sauce
- olive oil
- sesame oil
- spray avocado oil (Costco)
- minced garlic
- salt + pepper
- saute the ground chicken in olive oil until cooked
- add in garlic, cabbage mix, and a few drizzles of olive oil, sesame oil, and soy sauce
- roll up into egg rolls
- toss in the air fryer on high (390? 400?) for about 5 minutes, then turn over, and put on for 4 or 5 more minutes. every air fryer is different.
Sam the Cooking Guy has a great video (has a million great videos, actually) - watch it to learn how. I will say that mine were overdone and didn't cook as long as he recommended - every air fryer is different so the time / temp may need to be adjusted.
Pair the eggrolls If you want spicy eggrolls, smother in Momofuku chili crunch and pair with a great sparkling wine. The savory and the crunch would also pair well with a light red wine like the Landmark Pinot Noir.
Don’t have an air fryer? I was on the fence about getting one, and it is the most-used appliance in our kitchen. We LOVE IT. Here’s the best air fryer and more recipe ideas.
PS. I found the egg roll wraps from Lowes Foods. Lowes Foods To Go is now offering a $49 deal on a year’s worth of pick up – and that makes grocery shopping SO MUCH EASIER. I can add all the ingredients on my app or online, and a few hours later drive through to pick them up. Glorious. Five stars. Highly recommend.
