A friend / blog reader (hi, Sara! Thanks for reading!!) asked for recommendations on pots and pans or other durable kitchen essentials. And I DO! In June, my husband and I will celebrate 15 years of owning wedding gifts, including this Calphalon stainless steel pots and pans set.
We’ve been married 5,475 days. Let’s estimate 50% of the nights of our marriage (2,738) we’ve cooked at home (Ok…that actually may be a super lofty estimate number we are much more proficient at takeout than meal planning.) Plus, we usually make brunch on the weekends, which would be another 780 Saturdays. To add all of that up, we’ve used these pots and pans about 3,518 times. And they look almost new! If you’re looking for a new set, let me recommend this classic set.

Stainless steel can be a bit of a challenge to clean if you don’t use the right scrubbers, etc. – WikiHow has a list of the best way to clean stainless steel cookware and recommends not putting in the dishwasher but THAT IS SILLY. Who in their right mind wants to hand wash pots and pans every time they cook? We put ours in the dishwasher unless they don’t fit and ours have been just fine.
We also have a few other cookware pieces that we use in rotation – a stainless steel Wok and two Le Creseut Dutch ovens.
So there you have it: we’ve done all of the things you’re not supposed to do with our Calphalon Stainless Steel pots and pans. The set has survived two newlyweds, two newborns, and most significantly – two months of Quarantine. We love this set!
