Of all the local venues in the Grand Strand, the Winyah Auditorium is the most unique. Originally built in 1908, the building has been restored and refurbished several times but maintains it’s historic charm. The 400 seat auditorium originally housed the historic Winyah School. The building was restored in 2012 reviving its classical revival architecture and total southern charm.
The classical architecture and beautiful wood paneling, fixtures, and decor make this one of the prettiest spots to see live performances. It just might be the perfect place to see (or host) a concert in the Grand Strand area.
The event space was further enhanced in 2019. Refurbishing the balcony added 100 new seats and an excellent view of the stage and adjoining seating area.
Make it a dinner & a show and enjoy one of downtown Georgetown’s restaurants first!
Check out Winyah Auditorium’s website or Facebook page to see upcoming live performances, including music and plays.
