How to Serve Caviar the Fun Way (and What to Drink With It)

🍾 G.H. Mumm Champagne
If you’ve been around here for a minute, you know I’m a big believer in fancy things, done casually.
Champagne in stemless glasses, caviar on potato chips.
It’s all about having fun, laughing in the kitchen, popping a bottle, and remembering that the best memories are usually made in the most imperfect moments.
Champagne and caviar at a tailgate? Obviously.
Will won the Jordan Caviar Sampler Gift Set in a wine industry thing, which included five jars… so we had a few occasions to enjoy it with friends. None were fancy.
We had our friends and their kids over for an around-the-kitchen-island get together, and we brought it to a tailgate for the Carolina-Clemson game.
Food and wine aren’t about being proper or perfect.
They’re about bringing people together, laughing in your kitchen, clinking glasses, and making memories that have nothing to do with formal place settings.
Serve the caviar with potato chips.
Make it beautiful enough to feel special, but casual enough that everyone relaxes and has fun.
Here’s the thing about caviar: it looks fancy, but it doesn’t have to feel fancy.
You don’t need silver spoons, pressed linens, or a tuxedoed waiter named François.
You just need good people, great bubbles, and a little spread that makes everyone feel like they’ve wandered into the fun part of a holiday party.
This is my go-to setup — easy, pretty, and perfect for popping a bottle of GH Mumm (my favorite choice when you want champagne without the champagne price point).

What Goes on the Board
- Caviar – Will won the Jordan
- Mini pancakes (blini) — we got the Belgium Boys pancakes and put in the air fryer!
- Crème fraîche
- Chive + dill sour cream (mix sour cream with chopped dill + chives → done)
- Toasted baguette slices (I drizzled in olive oil + broiled a few minutes in the oven)
- Finely chopped red onions
- Fresh, chopped chives
- Add in a bowl: potato chips because salt + crunch + caviar = magic
Arrange it beautifully… fresh dill makes it easy… and then immediately give everyone permission to dive in however they want.

🥂 Why It Pairs Perfectly With GH Mumm
GH Mumm is crisp, lively, and a little celebratory without being precious. The bubbles cut through the richness of the crème fraîche and baguette, and the acidity balances the salty pop of the caviar.
It’s the kind of champagne that makes the whole board feel festive — but still totally relaxed.

This charcuterie board is so pretty for a spread at a party! Plus, it’s easy to clean. We always get complements when we bring this out for a party – it’s so pretty!
