If you’ve ever wondered, “how many water bottles should i drink a day?” – the answer, obviously, can vary. Weight Watchers recommends, “There’s no magic number, but men can stay hydrated with just over 15 cups (120 fl oz) per day. For women, it’s just over 11 (88 of oz).”
Hydration has perks. Drinking more water has many benefits, including:
- Improves your complexion: Dehydration can lead to premature wrinkling. H2O is cheaper than fancy skin potions!
- Helps you think more clearly: Medical News Today explains, “Dehydration can affect brain structure and function. It is also involved in the production of hormones and neurotransmitters. Prolonged dehydration can lead to problems with thinking and reasoning.”
- Helps your body function properly: it regulates your body temp, assists with the digestion process, and makes your body work.

Tips to drink more water
Make keeping a cute water bottle in your bag a habit.
To drink more water bottles everyday, carry one with you.
This is not based in an extensive scientific study, but just a simple one-person research project. Me. And a cute water bottle. Super Sparrow reached out to send me a few of their insulated water bottles to review on this blog, so I started carrying them to work.
Keep filled-up water bottles in your fridge.
I filled up my new water bottles and put them in the fridge. That tiny little act made a big a difference. Having the water bottle ready to go means I actually take it with me. Replace your disposable Dasani’s and just fill up your own reusable cute water bottles for the same convenience. I have two in rotation, but you may want a few more. Insulated bottles like Super Sparrow won’t sweat, so they won’t soak your tote. You can toss them in your bag and refill throughout the day.
If you have one with you, you’ll automatically drink more water.
What to look for in a reusable water bottle
A reusable water bottle will save you money. And save Mother Earth. So, yay for you!
I like having two in rotation so I always have one chilled and ready to go.
Some tips for picking out a reusable water bottle:
Pick out a pretty color. First, and most importantly: your water bottle should be cute!
Make sure it’s BPA free. The Mayo Clinic explains, “Some research has shown that BPA can seep into food or beverages from containers that are made with BPA. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of possible health effects of BPA on the brain and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children. It can also affect children’s behavior. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure.”
Insulated is ideal. An insulated stainless steel water bottle will keep your water cold throughout the day.
Look for a leak-proof and sweat-free powder coated exterior. You certainly don’t want a water bottle soaking your bag!
Find a brand that offers accessories. Super Sparrow bottles come with a few different options: a sport lid with a straw (my preference) or a pretty bamboo top that screws off with a handle. It even comes with a cool carrying case!
Thanks to Super Sparrow for sending me these water bottles… it became an “aha!“ quickly followed by ”Oh, obviously…” moment when I started carrying water bottles to work and instantly drinking more water. I really do love them and know you will, too!
