Page’s Okra Grill in the Charleston area is voted #1 in all of the most important brunch categories.
Best Bloody Mary.
Best Brunch.
Best Shrimp & Grits.
Best Breakfast.
Best Budget-Friendly Meal.
You’d expect a #1 voted brunch spot to be fancy and posh, but this spot is surprisingly cool and casual.
You can visit Page’s Okra Grill in Mt. Pleasant, Summerville, or Monck’s Corner.
We visited the Mt. Pleasant location. The interior is still bright and pretty, but you’ll fit in whether you’re dressed up or down. The covered outdoor area has plenty of high tops and long tables to accommodate groups (especially if you have kids) and are looking for a little more casual atmosphere.
Of course, you’ll get order anxiety because every Lowcountry brunch dish on the menu is tempting. We tried the Ashleigh’s Shrimp & Grits (award-winning, you kind of have to!). This is a slight twist on the original because the grits stand up in a triangle-form surrounded by the creamy shrimp and sausage – so your grits aren’t doused in the sauce. It’s delightful. The other item to order: the Shem Creek Omelet is a concoction of pan-seared jumbo shrimp, fresh blue crab, scallions, apple-wood smoked bacon, & pepper jack cheese served with grits and a biscuit.
You won’t leave starving, that’s for certain.
Both rich dishes are craft beer and Bloody Mary friendly. The Bloody Mary (also voted the best) has a great flavor without being too rich or spicy, and comes in a pretty glass with bacon, okra, celery, pickled okra, and an olive to make it insta-worthy.
