Have I got a great wine find for you today.
Jacob’s Creek is an Australian wine, and the chief winemaker, Barossa’s* Bernard Hicken, collaborated with a California Winemaker, Ehren Jordan to create this affordable wine with Australian fruit made in a California style. (*Barossa is like the Napa of Australia. It’s a well-known wine region.)
Intriguing, right?
It is. Two continents (or lands, as the label stipulates) come together, both of which excel in winemaking, to create a craft wine you would assume would be high-end, and certainly if you taste it, would think it would be well in the range of $65-$85.
But it’s not.
Jacob’s Creek Two Lands Cabernet Sauvignon is around $10.
The rich, ruby jewel tone color will make you pause and think, “hmm. I need to add some ruby to my jewelry collection. It would match my new favorite wine. Anniversary, dear?”
It’s a gorgeous wine with a clean scent (I do not love an earthy, dirty nose on a wine) and an even cleaner, easy to drink taste. The tasting notes describe, “a generous, rich and silky Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of blackberry and plum.” The depth of the wine is easy to enjoy without food, but would pair perfectly with a well-seasoned steak, braised short rib, or an Asian seared tuna with bok choy.
Go grab this fantastic wine – and go ahead and get a six-pack because this will be an everyday wine you’ll want to enjoy. Or a wine that you’ll bring to a party to wow the crowd, and it will be our secret that it’s so affordable.
You should be able to pick this up in your favorite grocery store. It’s a new product, but should be on the shelves this summer.
