Field Guide: 24 hours in Savannah
📍AC Hotel Savannah Historic District, Savannah, GA
📆 April 2025
We didn’t go to Savannah with a strict itinerary—just a little spring break escape. And honestly, that’s what made it perfect.
Here’s how it all unfolded in one delicious, meandering, memory-making day.
Check-In + River Views
We stayed at the AC Hotel by Marriott, right on the river. Clean, modern, and walkable to everything. First stop: the rooftop bar for a cocktail and a sunset view—highly recommend.
STAY: Marriott’s newest AC Hotel property in downtown is within walking distance to everything you’ll want to do.
River Street + Cookies + Wine

We wandered River Street and into Huey’s for a glass of rosé and snack.
Stopped into Byrd Cookie Co. for a sweet mini snack (ok, we got a box of mini cookies to go), and took our time walking along the water.
Dinner at Vic’s + Bravium Chardonnay

Dinner at Vic’s on the River was a highlight—Southern classics like fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits in a cozy dining room. We shared a bottle of Bravium Chardonnay, which paired perfectly with the richness of the meal. It was the kind of dinner that stretches out in the best way.
We loved the Ghost Tour Pub Crawl!

That night, we joined a Ghost Tour Pub Crawl booked via my favorite experience platform, Get Your Guide.
Greg is the best. We walked by a lot of ghost tours while on the tour and I thought, “thank goodness we have Greg instead of those people.” He was knowledgeable, funny, entertaining, and smart.
Honestly, this was more of a nighttime entertaining history tour with a few ghost stories sprinkled in than a bunch of ghost stories – and that was what we wanted.
Sunday Brunch + Cemetery Strolls

The next morning, we had brunch at The Olde Pink House—a Savannah staple with gorgeous architecture and all the Southern charm.

Afterward, we drove to Bonaventure Cemetery to walk off the biscuits and take photos. I brought my Fuji XS20, and the moss-draped trees didn’t disappoint.
Savannah Night Out Photo Album
This wasn’t a checklist trip. It was a “what sounds good right now?” kind of trip—which is exactly what we needed.

Where to stay in Savannah
AC Hotel in Savannah – Waterfront, cool rooftop bar + walkable to everything
We stayed at the AC Hotel on a trip to Savannah – and this is definitely the hotel we’ll be booking when we visit again. This hotel is right on the waterfront with a cool rooftop venue for cocktails and breakfast, and you can walk down the historic cobblestone streets for shopping and restaurants. We walked everywhere – including a Ghost Tour Pub Crawl – and back to our hotel.
