After an arduous search, which involved approximately 2,436 Internet clicks, texts to my mother, and visits to local stores, I made my decision.
White Chippendale outdoor chairs, perfect for our classic brownstone style townhouse from the Home Depot.
These were easy to assemble (as in, “Husband, put these together and I’ll put dinner together!” So easy!)
We also added two topiaries. When I texted the photo, my mom asked with a tinge of concern in her voice, “are those alive?” Which I responded, “for now.” I am not what you would label a “gardener” or “one with a green thumb” but I feel confident that I can keep these two trees alive with occasional watering.
And finally, I would like for you to acknowledge the biggest DIY project I’ve tackled in at least five years: painting the small side table. The man at Home Depot helped me pick out everything I needed which included a paintbrush, white exterior paint, and a sandpaper block. Comments you could consider writing include, “wow! It looks like a white table you’d buy in a store, not one you painted yourself!” or “please do a step by step tutorial on this amazing DIY table transition!”
What do you think, designers? What would you add to our little porch?
