Weeknight dinners tend to get a little boring and predictable: tacos, stir fry, spaghetti. Spice it up with a Cajun dish next week! Here’s a andouille sausage Cajun zoodle recipe, plus a roundup of recipes for andouille sausage. 🍽
Andouille Sausage Zoodles
Cast-iron skillet dinner
Ingredients
- Aidells Cajun Style Andouille
- Onions
- Peppers
- Zucchini spirals
- Salt
- Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions
- saute the andouille sausage with peppers and onions on low, then high to get a little bit of browning, then back on low
- Throw in the zoodles for about 4 - 6 minutes (don’t overdo it!)
- Add salt + red pepper flakes
Notes
Lowes Foods prep makes this SO EASY. Grab a container of the Zoodles, the sliced peppers with onions, and you just have to throw it all in the cast-iron skillet for dinner.
Serve with Chardonnay because the spice likes a buttery white wine 🥂
what’s andouille sausage?
”In the US, the sausage is most often associated with Louisiana Cajun cuisine, where it is a coarse-grained smoked sausage made using pork, garlic, pepper, onions, wine, and seasonings. Once the casing is stuffed, the sausage is smoked again (double smoked).”

Wine to drink with spicy dishes
Weirdly enough, a bold red Zinfandel (NOT WHITE) pairs really well with spicy foods. Not weird at all: you can always pair a sparkling wine with spicy food – and with salty andouille sausage? YUM.
