The 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon is an easy drinking, medium bodied red that’s a perfect wine to keep in the house for weeknight dinners. We’re always looking for a good “house wine” as an everyday wine, and this is our current favorite. Affordably priced around $14/ bottle, you can pick this up at Target or order a case from Wine.com. From Columbia Valley in Washington State, this is a clean and smooth Cab and has hints of spice and black currant.
About 14 Hands
14 Hands wines embody the spirit of the wild horses that once freely roamed the starkly beautiful hills of Eastern Washington.
Horses are measured in “hands”, the size of an average man’s hand (around 4 inches) so 14 Hands is named for these small horses.
Pairings
Food // This is such a smooth wine, it could be paired with anything from pizza to a pot roast. Definitely a wine that compliments food but doesn’t require food to be enjoyed. (In other words, this is a great wine to enjoy while watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix!)
Friends // This is a great dinner party wine because it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser. It’s also a great wine to enjoy at home with your husband when babies are snoozing.
Style // Equestrian style, of course! Khaki pants, checked button up, and a vest if it’s cold. And since this winter is never ending, a vest may be required until July!
