“SALSA!! SALSA!! Scroll DOWN! THAT ONE!”
This is the command I gave my husband to watch the next taste test video from Rhett & Link.
I can’t pinpoint how or why YouTube became a thing my husband and I watch at night on Apple TV, but lately, we can’t stop watching the Good Mythical Morning YouTube Channel.
Good Mythical Morning sounds like a Game of Thrones / Dungeons and Dragons talk show but it’s not. Two comedians, I assume they are friends, have a daily show. They do things like taste test different colas, grocery store salsa, and fast food dishes.
It’s totally addictive and funny and mindless and suspenseful.
Here are three good ones to get you started down the rabbit hole:
Grocery Store Salsa
Do you really notice the salsa at a party? Or do you just blindly dip? This episode confirms store-bought salsas are not outstanding… unless you go to Costco and try Mateo’s. Mateo’s is not on their list but I can attest it’s the best salsa you can dip outside of a La Hacienda (La Ha for short). Also, notice the double-dipping!
Chain Coffee Taste Test
Who has the best coffee? For all of the dedicated coffee drinkers, this one is entertaining… (the mugs are hilarious!)
Whole Foods v .99 cent store
My husband and I had a serious discussion about this: I mean if you are a really great chef, is someone going to notice the ingredients in clam chowder? The duo tries different entrees made from ingredients from a Whole Foods and the 99 cent only stores. Certainly, the ham sandwich and the cobb salad should have been obvious, right? I’m not sure what the 99 cents only stores are, because we don’t have them in South Carolina, but I can only assume it’s like a dollar store for food, but a penny less. The thing is, lettuce is lettuce… but Whole Foods lettuce is probably going to be organic and not doused in pesticides, so it’s more expensive, but is there a taste difference? Watch this one to find out.
Sub Sandwich Blind Taste Test
My husband and I earnestly discussed the fact that both of us feel we could choose most of these subs – to the point, I kind of want try our own blind taste test to see if we could do it. But, we postured, it may be difficult if the subs were not our regular order – like, I could certainly pick out a Cold Cut Combo from Subway or a #4 Turkey Tom without tomato from Jimmy John’s but would I be able to pick out a roast beef sandwich from either place? (Also, didn’t Quiznos close??)
I love to read, but it’s fun to get lost on YouTube! What are the silly things you’re into recently?
