eyes on Beautycounter’s
new classic palette
I have a friend at work, Meredith, who has the best makeup tricks and always ALWAYS looks put together. She shared how she creates her spectacular eyes, which look J Crew natural with a little bit of shimmer to make her eyes bright. It turns out, it’s a really simple combination: brown eyeliner, mascara + Beautycounter classic eyeshadow palette.
Rather than offering to do my makeup each morning, Meredith recommended watching this video. YouTube makeup tutorials are oddly addictive and mesmerizing. (Do you have any favorites?) This girl is fantastic and easy to watch – none of her makeup tutorials are too complicated and contain useful tips that are easy to duplicate.
pretty eyes in a minute
If you love the no makeup makeup look… like, you want to look better than your rolled-out-of-bed state, but not look like you’re ready to hit the Glamour Shots photo booth, you will love this eyeshadow palette. For a basic, everyday look, I’ve been wearing suede as base, and copper on the crease, and usually dab ivory in the corners close to my nose. When I’m feeling saucy, I add a thin line on the top and bottom with the Beautycounter brown eyeliner (the best I have ever used, seriously! It glides on like a fountain pen instead of getting stuck on my eyelid like a stale crayon). My makeup routine finale ends with a swipe of the lengthening mascara on my lashes. All in all, it takes about a minute to do my eyes in the morning. (I have a five minute Beautycounter makeup routine, and recently added eyes to this when I got this palette.)
eyes on drama
For a dramatic date-night look, try the sparkles! Penny has a pretty, glittery look, and the cinnamon and burnished are great for smoky drama in the crease.
The colors are fantastic for fall – pretty bronze and coppery tones to compliment your cozy fall outfits! But, the neutrals are great year-round. The lighter tones are perfect for spring, and go a little darker / bronzer in the winter.
no funky ingredients
Also? No weird chemicals. I’ve been slowly switching to natural, cleaner skincare products. I am not a fanatic that will pull you aside at a party and tell you you’re going to die if you don’t switch your drugstore lipstick to a different brand. If I find something I love, I’ll make the switch. If not, I stick to my old product. (I’m looking at you, deodorant. Natural deodorant worked for a few months for me… until it didn’t. ew.)
I can safely say Beautycounter makeup is the best I have ever used, and I love it even more knowing it’s not full of funky ingredients.
